Frequently Asked Questions:

VHS QUESTIONS:

Q: My tape has some static and some instances where I left the camera running by accident, can you remove these?
A: We can only give you a converted copy which is as close as possible to the original. Any faults on the original video will also be on the converted video. We can, however, edit out certain scenes you desire (blank screens, accidental recordings, etc.), if you choose to pay a small editing fee (see prices ).

Q: Do you convert Video 8 to or from any foreign standard?
A:  Sorry we can no longer support the video 8 format due to low demand.

Q: Can you convert VHS-C tapes to or from any foreign standard?
A: Yes, and there is no need to send your adapter.

Q: I don't know the video standard* that is used in the country I want to play my tape on.
A: Don't worry. Just tell us the country you want to play the tape on, and we'll do the rest! If you would like to know the video standard FYI, please view our video conversion charts.

DVD QUESTIONS:

Q: How do I know if your DVD's will play on my home DVD player?
A: We use DVD+R discs which will play on *almost all home DVD players, and are the most compatible recordable DVD media on the market today. (Check your DVD manual to check for DVD+R compatibility.)

Q: How is the quality of the transfer from VHS to DVD?
A: The video quality will be very similar to the original, at all compression modes.  The BEST quality is from the 2-hr SP mode. However, the DVD will hold up to 4-hrs at the EP recording mode. The DVD process can not improve on your original tape, but will faithfully reproduce your tape including any video defects that it may have.
